Your guide to a more personal map.
01Get into your workspace
Your administrator creates your account and gives you a username and password. Sign in on the web or mobile app using the same credentials. There is no public sign-up or email password reset.
Open Your account to change your password. If you cannot sign in, contact the administrator who provided your account.
02Make the map yours
Open Explore map to pan and zoom. Click any point to add a saved place. Give it a name, choose a category, and add a note if you like. The location button centers on your position after you grant permission.
Your saved places are private to your account. Search or filter them in the map sidebar, then select a place to fly to its pin.
03Keep your places organized
Saved places shows everything you have collected. Use Add a place to enter coordinates manually. Edit updates the name, category, pin location, and notes. Delete asks for confirmation and permanently removes the place.
Latitude ranges from −90 to 90; longitude from −180 to 180. You can also use your current location in the place form.
04Find a route
In Explore map, select Directions. Choose saved places or enter each point as latitude, longitude. Pick driving, cycling, or walking and press Find a route. The map shows the path, distance, time, and turn instructions.
Directions need internet and an enabled routing service. If unavailable, contact your administrator. Route instructions and travel times are estimates; spoken guidance is not included.
05Take it with you
The Flutter mobile app connects to your organization's Ivymap server. Sign in, then refresh to download saved places to SQLite. You can read cached places without a connection; reconnect to create, edit, delete, or refresh them.
Cached data is separated by server and account. Signing out clears your cached places and stored login. Background map tiles and new routes require connectivity; offline map region downloads are not included.
06Manage a trusted workspace
Administrators use Manage users to create accounts, update email and roles, reset passwords manually, or disable access. Disabling an account revokes web and mobile access immediately. Keep at least one active administrator.
Deleting an account permanently deletes its saved places. Use Disable when you only need to suspend access. Email messages are not sent; share access details directly.
07Follow your drive
On Explore map, choose Start driving and allow location access. The blue marker follows your position; speed appears in km/h and the map turns with your direction of travel. You can track without a destination, or first load a route from your current location.
With a route loaded, the driving card shows the next instruction, estimated distance and time remaining. If you leave the route, use Recalculate route to request driving directions from your current point. Dragging the map pauses camera follow; Recenter restores it.
Tracking pauses when you switch apps, lock the phone, or hide the browser page, and resumes when you return. Stop driving ends it. GPS updates stay on your device; route requests send your start and destination to the server. No driving history is recorded. Browser tracking requires HTTPS or localhost.
